  • Band width:
    -The maximum amount of information, by (bits, seconds), that can be transmitted along a channel.(telecommunication)
  • Baud Rate:
    - A data transmission rate, for *modems*( bits, seconds)
    *Modems: Digital information
  • Bulletin Board System:
    - A computer that has running software that allows users to leave messages and access information of general interest*.
    *General interest: Computer communities.
    -Example; News topic threads.

  • Hypertext- text which contains a hyperlink.
  • Hypermedia- A hyperlink that allows the user to interact using text, graphics,videos, and sound each that can be accessed from within any of the others.
  • Information highway-a large-scale communications network offering a variety of often interactive services like text, databases, email, audio and video materials accessed through computers, television sets, etc

  • World Wide Web- (www) A vast network of link to hypertext files, stored on computers throughout the world, that can provide a computer user with infromation on a huge variety of subjects.
  • ISP- (Internet service provider) A business providing its customers with connection to the internet and other related services. (Ex. Charter.)

  • Log Off- To end what ever your doing on the computer by typing the right command.
  • Log On- To type user name and password or just password maybe nothing at all just click on the link to connect to your computer.

  • HTML -(Hyper Text Mark-up Language) the language of construction on webpages
